A redundant church, once the focus of local life, lost its relevance when the valley was flooded, and the town centre moved. Now part of a celebrated historic precinct, it has a new lease on life as a family holiday home. Additions have been made to the building in clear modules, that let the inherited structure sing. A second phase will create modern pavilions around a cloistered garden.
